Located in the southwest side of the Korea, Gochang is popular for geotourism. Gochang–gun is the first site in korea that designated by UNESCO as a world biosphere reserve, in 2013. Chief of the site of Gochang, “Yonggye village” is the most famous of the geotourism.
The possible effect of geotourism in Yonggye village are able to experience time travel and the unique local cultures of Yonggye village.
One possible effect of geotourism in Yonggye village is that tourists can experience time travel. Yonggye village became well known for the biggest dolmen in the Orient. More surprisingly, the dolmen’s weight is 300kg. Tourists can experience time travel to the primitive ages in the place. They can wear clothes as a primitive man and go through life of them. It is a unusual and special experience for tourists. Especially, this is popular with children.
Another possible effect of geotourism in Yonggye village offering a unique experience that tourists have an great time with various local cultures. Tourists can lodge at a traditional houses with local people. They might learn about Korean Traditional Etiquette during the trip. Also, local people offer a local food like plum which the traditional food of Yonggye village. Tourists can easily understand local cultures and regional characteristics.
Gochang is unique place that has beautiful natural scene. In Gochang, we can learn culture and history of region, and also can interact with residents.
I think It is kind of creative idea of experiencing time travel in Gochang ;-) I didn't know that it exists before reading your posting. As you said, It will be good for tourists (especially children).
